Spurthi Rural Development Society
Spurthi Rural Development Society (SRDS) is a non-governmental voluntary organization established by a group of socially committed individuals in 1997. Since its inception, SRDS has actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at rural development, skill enhancement, women empowerment, environmental conservation, and advocacy for marginalized communities.
The mission of SRDS is to foster unity among the poorest sections of society, building human and material resources while enhancing social capital through the formation of people's organizations. SRDS aims to establish strong relationships with communities, organizing women, children, and landless laborers into associations and federations to promote their interests.
SRDS envisions creating socially and economically self-reliant communities that are aware of their basic rights and human dignity. The organization strives to empower the poorest and most marginalized groups, particularly women and children, fostering an environment of justice, equitable resource distribution, and dignity for all.
SRDS implements its objectives through advocacy, lobbying, networking, and the formation of community-based organizations and people-based trade unions. These strategies help amplify the voices of marginalized communities and ensure their participation in decision-making processes.
